Bruins Parade Should End With Speeches From Players, But Mayor Tom Menino Won’t Allow It

When the Patriots won the Super Bowl in February 2002, the city was overwhelmed with fans, as Boston hosted its first champion since the 1986 Celtics. That Duck Boat parade ended with speeches at City Hall Plaza, which was unforgettable for Bob Kraft's horribly awkward dance moves.

While Zdeno Chara could probably give the Patriots' owner a run for his money in terms of bad dance moves, Bruins fans won't get the chance to see it. That's because there won't be any speeches at the end of the Bruins' parade on Saturday, just as there haven't been any speeches since that Patriots parade in '02.

Watch the video above to see why Gerry Callahan is fired up at Boston mayor Tom Menino for telling Bostonians what's best for them.
