Bruins’ Selection of Dougie Hamilton With Ninth Pick in Draft Closes Book on Phil Kessel Trade

The 2011 NHL draft marked the official ending to the Phil Kessel story, as the Bruins have now used all of the draft picks they acquired from Toronto in exchange for the winger.

The final chapter of the story, which includes a Stanley Cup victory, featured the Bruins drafting defenseman Dougie Hamilton with the ninth overall pick.

It might not be a few years before we realize the true impact of Tyler Seguin and Hamilton, whom the Bruins selected with the two first-round picks they received in the Kessel trade. But each has an immense amount of potential, which has Bruins fans thinking some more Stanley Cup victories could be on the horizon.
