After giving up high-caliber star Kendrick Perkins, the Celtics might not be willing to part ways with Perkins' trade counterpart, Jeff Green.

The Celtics extended a qualifying offer to Green, the team said in a statement released on Thursday. The $5.9 million extended offer makes Green a restricted free agent, which allows the Celtics to match any other offers the forward may receive from other teams.

As a Celtic, Green appeared in 26 regular-season games and registered 254 points. In the postseason, the 24-year-old appeared in nine games, averaging 7.3 points per game. Green was named to the All-Rookie First Team in 2008. Over his four-year career, Green has played in 315 games, averaging 13.9 points per game.
