Derek Jeter Inching Toward More Yankees History With Hit No. 3,000 Looming

There's no arguing Derek Jeter's place in Yankees history, but he'll add another notch on an impressive resume very soon.

That's because Jeter is rapidly approaching 3,000 hits, and when he gets there (he entered play on Tuesday just 14 shy), he'll become the first Yankees player to do so.
