You can't always get what you want. And for Liverpool FC, that seems to mean they will not acquire Colombian centre-back Cristian Zapata.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Udinese Calcio, the Serie A squad Zapata currently plays for, and Spanish Primera Division team Villarreal, have a deal in place to send the star to play for the Yellow Submarines.

Villarreal director of sport, Antonio Cordon, reportedly has a deal in place with Udinese Calcio that is worth €6 million and also involves the transfer of Javier Matilla.

However, Matilla will not play for Villarreal. Instead, he will be loaned out to Granada.
