Best Pitcher: Jim Lonborg (22-9, 3.16 ERA, 273 1/3 IP)
Breakdown: Known as the "Impossible Dream," the '75 Red Sox improved by 20 wins off their previous season and were two years removed from a 100-loss season. Led by "Yaz" and his AL MVP, the Sox fell to Bob Gibson and the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games. The Sox clinched the Pennant on the last day of the season, outlasting the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins.
