How Many Games Will Aaron Rome Be Suspended for Hit on Nathan Horton? When Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome lined up Nathan Horton in the middle of the ice and blindsided him in the first period of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, the crowd at the TD Garden was in shock.

The play was devastating not because it left the team without one of its premier offensive players, but because the extent of the injury was unknown. Horton lay on the ice, mostly motionless, staring up to the rafters where he and the rest of the Bruins hope to raise a Stanley Cup championship banner.

Horton maintained consciousness and had movement in all of his extremities upon being taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, but his season is likely over.

Now there is the question as to whether Aaron Rome’s season should also be over — or at least for a game or two — for his role in the incident. He will be meeting with the league office at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, as the league will then have to decide whether he should be suspended and for how long.
