Report: Jaromir Jagr Considering Penguins, Red Wings in Potential Return to NHL

39-year-old Jaromir Jagr is considering a return to the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings or the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to his agent, Petr Svoboda.

The right winger praised both teams extensively, citing players like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin from the Penguins and Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom from the Red Wings as reasons for him considering each team, according to ESPN.com.

"Both teams are contenders to win the Cup every year and that's the most exciting thing as a hockey player," Jagr said.

The Red Wings have expressed interest in Jagr, and head coach Mike Babcock has spoken with him, ESPN.com reports.

The nine-time All-Star added that he does not know when he will make his decision by.

Jagr started his NHL career with the Penguins, winning two Stanley Cups with the team. He also played for the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals.

Over the course of his career, Jagr also played professionally in the Czech Republic and the KHL.
