Jon Lester Able to Execute When Needed, Comes Away With Eighth Win of Season


Jon Lester entered Tuesday’s start against the Yankees with impressive numbers against New York in the past. He added to those numbers, coming away with the win, but it wasn’t an easy start.

Lester struggled at times with his command, particularly his cutter, but was able to labor through six innings to pick up the win, aided by his ability to make pitches when he needed to.
