Zdeno Chara left Las Vegas without the Norris Trophy, but the Bruins captain didn't leave Sin City completely empty-handed, as he was named the recipient of the Mark Messier Award.

How close was he to bagging his second Norris? According to Puck Daddy's research, Big Z was the second runner-up behind winner Nicklas Lidstrom and Nashville's Shea Weber, despite having more first-place votes (33) than Weber (32). Chara finished with 688 points while Weber had 727, just nine points shy of Lidstrom's 736.

As for other Bruins, Tim Thomas received his second Vezina, edging out Pekka Rinne, 104-84. Roberto Luongo took third place with 33 points.
