Poll: Which Boston Parade to Celebrate a Championship Was Your Favorite? Saturday was a beautiful day in Boston. Yeah, the weather was pretty nice, but it was mainly a beautiful day because Bostonians were able to celebrate something they hadn’t been able to celebrate in 39 years — a Bruins Stanley Cup win.

In front of a record Boston championship parade crowd, the B’s players, coaches, and members of the front office drove from The TD Garden to Copley Square in duck boats to show off their prize — the Stanley Cup. Some of the players even let fans in the street have a chance to get their hands on the hardware.

Bruins players such as Mark Recchi, Tim Thomas, Patrice Bergeron, and coach Claude Julien all spoke to the crowd and said one thing in common: The Cup belongs to the fans. Even Brad Marchand got in on the fun in a hysterical way, grabbing the microphone and rapping “Black and Yellow” to the crowd’s delight.

Saturday was a day the Bruins organization and fans had been waiting for for almost four decades, and it did not disappoint.
