NHL Tells Bruins They Can No Longer Wear Red Sox Hats During Interviews In addition to banning the finger wagging and taunting after whistles for the remainder of the Stanley Cup Final, the NHL is cracking down on its players' choice of headgear in between games.

CBS Boston reports that the NHL has told Bruins players that they can no longer wear Red Sox hats during TV interviews.

Before the playoffs began, the NHL handed out official Stanley Cup gear to players on every team that made the postseason. During recent interviews, however, Shawn Thornton, Michael Ryder and Chris Kelly opted to wear Red Sox hats instead — apparently to the league's staunch disapproval.

The NHL has reportedly instructed Bruins players not to wear their Red Sox hats for the remainder of the postseason.
