Vote: Should the Patriots Sign Plaxico Burress? Plaxico Burress is free.

The former New York Giants wide receiver, who spent the last 20-plus months in prison after shooting himself in the leg, will be 34 if and when he takes the field in the fall. According to his agent, Burress will be working out in Florida during the NFL’s ongoing labor dispute, with the hopes of returning to the gridiron some day soon.

But which team will give Burress a shot? The Patriots, who took a shot on another trouble-making wide receiver in 2007 in Randy Moss, could make room for the nine-year NFL veteran with 55 receiving TDs to his name.

His big frame and deep threat-ability would compliment Tom Brady‘s current targets of Wes Welker and company well, but is it wise to bring in an aging trouble maker?
