SLAMDiabetes to Host Charity Wiffle Ball Tournament Featuring Bill Lee at Little Fenway on June 25

Diabetes flies under the radar all too often. But no more, says SLAMDiabetes™, which is hosting its first annual SLAMDiabetes Wiffle ball tournament on June 25 at Little Fenway in Jericho, Vt.

The tournament will bring together players from all over the Northeast to compete against one another in order to raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes, as well as funding for scholarships and research for a cure through multiple organizations — including the Diabetes Research Institute, Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston and Barton Diabetes Research Center.

Former Red Sox pitcher Bill Lee will be playing at the event, which includes autographed memrobilia from Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Sam Fuld and Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Brandon Morrow, both of whom have Type 1 diabetes.

Other celebrities expected to be in attendance are actor Luis Guzman (Traffic, HBO's Oz) and late-night personality Tim Kavanagh.

The twelve-team tournament's national sponsors are: Zevia (Natural Diet Soda), Insulet Corporation and EHR Integrated. The local sponsors include Engelberth Construction, Creative Labels of Vermont, Crystal Rock Water, Bullrock Corporation and All For A Cure LLC.

It is sure to be an exciting and worthwhile day of competitive Wiffle ball played on the amazing Little Fenway, a replica of Fenway Park that is 1/4 the size and frequently hosts charity events.

Games will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 25. Opening ceremonies will commence at noon.
