Terry Francona Encouraged by Andrew Miller’s Start Against Padres

Andrew Miller may have received a no-decision in his first start with the Red Sox on Monday night, but manager Terry Francona was encouraged by Miller's performance.

Francona said that Miller's velocity was good, and his changeup was really good. Miller allowed three runs on seven hits through 5 2/3 innings, while striking out six and walking three, as the Red Sox routed the Padres 14-5.

Francona also announced after the game that Josh Beckett will be scratched from his Tuesday start due to sickness. Alfredo Aceves will start in his place.

To hear what else Francona had to say about Miller's start, as well as what Beckett's missed start means to the rotation, check out the video above.
