With Rory McIlroy all but ready to assume the golfing throne, the current king still doesn't know when he will return.

Tiger Woods has not set a return date, saying that although his leg injuries are improving, he cannot hit balls yet and has been concentrating on putting, according to ESPN.com.

Woods stated that he's no longer walking with a crutch or a walking boot, but said that he has to be smarter about his health and about playing with injuries.

Woods didn't state whether or not he would play in the British Open starting July 14, but he did say he would be surprised if the year ended without him playing.
