Tuukka Rask, Cory Schneider Provide Unique Perspective on 2011 Stanley Cup Final As Backup Goalies

It takes a special breed of athlete to want to stand in front of a rubber puck and keep it out of the net. Needless to say, goalies are a very unique breed indeed.

For backup goalies, such as Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins, and Cory Schneider of the Vancouver Canucks, the mentality is even stranger.

Playing behind Tim Thomas and Roberto Luongo, the playoffs' two best goalies, both backups have big shoes to fill if their team's No. 1 netminder goes down. Schneider has already had to step in while Thomas has played in every game so far for Boston.

However, each has been keeping a blog providing a unique look into the Stanley Cup Final experience for their teams.

Aside from the healthy scratches, they are the only players who don't see any ice time despite being on the bench.

Behind the Rask and Cory's Story provide a player's perspective unlike any other.

Check out the blogs and follow along with the Bruins and Canucks backups throughout the Stanley Cup Final.
