That means there will be endless partying all summer long. It also mean that they’lll be skating around with a giant target on their backs every night next season. Fortunately for Bostonians, both of these mean constant excitement both on the ice and off.
While most Hub hockey fans are still beaming with excitement from the Stanley Cup run, the NHL released the 2011-12 season schedule on Thursday, giving B’s fans something to look forward to when the confetti clears and the champagne wears off.
The B’s will be the home team in 13 of their first 17 contests, including the season opener on Oct. 6 against the Flyers, whom they swept out of the postseason in the Eastern Conference semifinals last month. Just two nights later, the B’s welcome in another playoff foe, the Lightning, whom they toppled in the Eastern Conference finals.
