Who Will Lead the Yankees in Home Runs This Year? The Bronx Bombers are truly living up to their namesake this year as the Yankees lead the MLB in home runs with 88 through Wednesday morning.

Mark Teixeira leads the club with 18 homers, although he could miss time after taking a Jon Lester heater to the kneecap on Tuesday night in New York. Trailing Teixeira is an unlikely slugger in center fielder Curtis Granderson, who has an impressive 17 taters through 58 games. Those 17 homers also happen to be third-most in the league, as he’s out-slugged natural longball hitters like Prince Fielder (15), Albert Pujols (14) and Miguel Cabrera (13).

The Yanks have two more players with double-digit homer totals in Robinson Cano (12) and Alex Rodriguez (10). Something tells me that the slumping A-Rod will tack on at least 20 more big blasts this season, as the third baseman is the active leader in career homers with 623. New catcher Russell Martin is on the verge of hitting the 10-homer plateau, as he has nine through 49 games.

Who will lead the Yanks in homers when the season concludes? Vote below.
