It was a tough go for recent World Series-winning Red Sox teams in the first round of the "Red Sox Showdown for the Ages." While the top-seeded 2004 team was bounced in the first round, so was the 2007 squad, although they lost to a pretty good team in the 1946 team led by Ted Williams, a team that came within a game of winning a championship.
