Adrian Gonzalez Doesn’t Tailor Swing After Ted Williams, But Admires What Hall of Famer Accomplished As Hitter

While no hitter may ever compare to Ted Williams, Adrian Gonzalez looks like he certainly has the potential to become one of the best hitters to don a Red Sox uniform in a long time.

When speaking with NESN's Heidi Watney on Monday, Gonzalez admitted that he's a different type of hitter than Williams. He said that he still admires what Williams accomplished as a hitter, though, calling him one of the game's all-time greats.

Gonzalez, who called Williams an "icon," said that the Red Sox Hall of Famer represents the game of baseball the way it's supposed to be represented.

To hear what else Gonzalez had to say about Williams on the 45 anniversary of his Hall of Fame speech, check out the video above.
