Man Wearing Wedding Dress Runs Onto Field During Braves-Nationals Game (Video) A classic baseball saying states: “Whenever you go to a ballgame, there’s a chance you’ll see something you’ve never seen before.”

You can be pretty confident that the fans at Saturday’s Braves-Nationals game saw something they’ve never seen before — and may not want to see again.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, an adult male dropped onto the warning track of Turner Field in Atlanta. The fact that a fan ran onto the field is not odd, as that happens occasionally throughout a baseball season.

The odd part? The man was wearing a wedding dress.

The fan barely got to right-center before a group of security guards tackled him and escorted him off the field. Luckily for the “bride,” the dress only endured a couple of grass stains around the knees.

“Yeah, that was something I had never experienced before,” Nationals pitcher Tyler Clippard, who was on the mound when the fan appeared, told the Washington Post, “I mean, I’ve seen it happen, but I’ve never been on the field when it’s happened. It was kind of frustrating, threw off my rhythm a little bit, but you know, I got through it.”

Clippard’s manager Davey Johnson was a bit more amused by the act.

“I thought that only happened in New York,” Johnson said, “That was a pretty good open-field tackle, too [by security]. I’m just wondering was he getting married, or is he going to the wedding or coming from it. I don’t know.”
