Albert Haynesworth Acquisition the Latest of Many Unpredictable Patriots Moves in Bill Belichick Era If there’s one thing you can expect from Bill Belichick, it’s the unexpected.

Even his arrival to New England was something straight out of The Twilight Zone, when he “resigned as HC of the NYJ” after just one day as Jets’ head coach. In fact, his introductory news conference to the New York media ended up being a half-hour conference explaining why he was resigning. Shortly thereafter, he was introduced as “HC of the NEP” and has been there ever since.

And he has done some equally crazy things along the way.

From trades, to cuts, to quotes, to plays — even that Friday afternoon news conference grin that drives opposing coaches crazy but makes Pats fans all warm and tingly — there’s a mysterious side to Belichick that football fans have grown to either love or hate, or love to hate.

You want unpredictable? How about The Hooded One hopping on stage and signing with Bon Jovi? Or his interesting relationship with one of the league’s biggest hot dogs in Chad Ochocinco? How about something as simple as rocking a “Team Bass Masters” T-shirt to a Bruins game?

Simply put, there’s always something up his sleeve (or where a sleeve was before getting cut off), and the Pats’ acquisition of defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is just the latest example of this.
