The Boise State Broncos are getting a change in conference this season and because of that, they will also undergo a wardrobe change.

Boise State head coach Chris Peterson said on Tuesday that the Mountain West Conference has told him and his team that they will not be able to wear their blue uniforms (blue jerseys and blue pants) at home, according to the Idaho Statesman (via SportsByBrooks). The Broncos, of course, play their home games on blue turf.

"What we heard from coaches is that it's a 'competitive advantage,'" Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson said. "It's as simple as that."

The stipulation was part of the agreement which allowed the Broncos to join the Mountain West, as they made the move from the WAC.

Not surprisingly, Peterson is not a fan of the conference's ruling.

"I thought it was ridiculous. That's our colors. That's who we are. That's who our fans wanted us to be since I've been at Boise State. That's what it's been through and through."
