Vote: Do You Like the Patriots Adding Albert Haynesworth? There's not a Patriots fan alive who went to bed Wednesday night expecting Albert Haynesworth to be in New England on Thursday morning, but that's what makes the Patriots the Patriots.

The reported trade of a fifth-round pick for Haynesworth is a bit of a risk for the Pats, as Haynesworth's past two seasons in Washington haven't gone smoothly — to say the least. He feuded with coach Mike Shanahan, failed several conditioning tests last summer and was suspended last season for "conduct detrimental to the team."

The Patriots have taken such risks before and have been rewarded greatly. They took a risk on Corey Dillon before the 2004 season, sending a second-round pick to Cincinnati. It worked out in the short term, as Dillon helped lead the Pats to a Super Bowl victory, but he reverted back to the troubled Dillon in the following seasons.

Likewise, many football pundits believed Randy Moss to be washed up when the Patriots traded a fourth-round pick to Oakland to acquire him. All Moss did was set an NFL record for touchdown receptions in his first season. Though his final season in New England ended with an abrupt midseason trade, Moss was a locker room leader and good citizen in his three-plus seasons in Foxboro. That was particularly evident in 2008, when he stepped up in Tom Brady's absence and helped keep the Patriots in the race for a playoff spot until the final week of the season.

So now, Pats fans, what's your take on the Haynesworth deal?
