Ervin Santana Throws No-Hitter Against Indians Ervin Santana woke up Wednesday morning with a 5-8 record and a 3.69 ERA. By the middle of the afternoon, he had himself a no-hitter.

The 28-year-old righty was unhittable against the Indians in Cleveland on Wednesday, picking up the first no-hitter of his career. He did allow an unearned run, though the Angels won the game 3-1.

Santana needed just 105 pitches to go the distance, striking out 10 Indians in the process.

The Indians scored their lone run in the bottom of the first inning. Ezequiel Carerra led off by reaching base on an error. He then stole second, advanced to third on a grounder to second and scored on a wild pitch.

Santana then retired 20 batters in a row before walking Lonnie Chisenhall in the eighth.

Santana needed just 12 pitches in the ninth inning to complete the no-no, striking out Travis Buck, getting Carerrra to ground to second and inducing a flyout from Michael Brantley.

It was the Angels' first no-hitter since 1984.
