Fans of Friday Night Lights will be sad to see the show go as it wraps up this week on NBC.

But with the series earning an Emmy nomination for Best Drama, along with nods for Best Actor and Best Actress going to Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, respectively, at least it has a chance to leave with some hardware.

The show, which focuses on high school football in the fictional town of Dillon, Texas, wraps up its five-year run with its final episode set to air Friday on NBC. It has been nominated for a total of nine Emmys in the past, but only won once for Outstanding Casting during its first season in 2007.

Chandler, who plays Eric Taylor, head coach for the East Dillon Lions, was nominated in 2010 for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series, but lost to Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston.

Britton was also nominated last year as Best Actress for her portrayal of Tami Taylor a.k.a. "Mrs. Coach," but was upended by Kyra Sedgwick for her role in TNT's The Closer.
