HBO To Produce One-Hour Special Chronicling Derek Jeter's Quest for 3,000th Hit HBO has announced that in association with MLB Productions, it will produce a one-hour special commemorating Derek Jeter's quest for his 3000th hit.

The show, which will be called "Derek Jeter 3K," will air weeks after Jeter becomes the 28th player to accomplish the feat. He is currently six hits away from the milestone.

Interviews are scheduled to include an eclectic cast. Obviously, many of Jeter's friends and teammates from the Yankees will be included, such as Mariano Rivera, Curtis Granderson, owner Hal Steinbrenner and former manager Joe Torre.

Interestingly, actor Billy Crystal and Jeter's girlfriend Minka Kelly are also expected to be included, which might provide another reason or two to tune in.

Will you be tuning in to see how the Captain accomplishes history? Or are you too big a Red Sox fan to watch a show about a Yankee? Vote in the NESN Nation poll below.
