The Red Sox have had some injuries to their pitching staff as of late. Jon Lester has missed time. So has Clay Buchholz. Even Josh Beckett had something of an injury scare as well.
And all along, it's been John Lackey who has somewhat quietly stepped up and helped make those absences in the rotation hurt a little less. He continued to step up on Friday night, when he shut down a familiar foe from his Angels days, the Seattle Mariners.
"It's been nice to help out the club, for sure, in a time that we need it," Lackey said after his third straight quality outing.
See what else he had to say in the video above.
