When Lucas Leiva isn’t showcasing his soccer skills at Anfield, he is doing it for his home country of Brazil.

The Reds star helped lead Brazil to the Copa America quarterfinals Wednesday night with a 4-2 victory over Ecuador. Leiva played the full 90 minutes. Brazil will face Paraguay on Sunday.

Leiva didn’t hide his excitement for the win after the game, saying from his Twitter page: “Thanks for all the positive messages I have received. On Sunday Brazil have another final and we need all the energy coming from you. #YNWA”

Leiva is not the only Liverpool star playing in the Copa America in Argentina this month. Luis Suarez will lead his Uruguay team in Saturday night’s quarterfinal match against Argentina.
