While he might not be participating in next week’s Home Run Derby at Chase Field in Arizona, Dave “The Bullet” Smith‘s home run on Tuesday night might be more impressive than any of the mammoth shots that are sure to be hit that night.

Smith launched himself out of a cannon and over the fence at LeLacheur Park, home of the Lowell (Mass.) Spinners, marking the first ever “human home run.” He traveled 195 feet as part of the blast.

Smith’s launch marked the only home run the crowd witnessed on the evening, in fact, as the Spinners fell to the Connecticut Tigers, 2-0, in a homerless game.
