According to ESPN.com, the Dolphins reached an agreement with quarterback Matt Moore worth $5 million over two years, adding some competition to a position that already features Chad Henne and rookie Pat Devlin.
Miami's signing of Moore essentially takes the team out of the running for Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton. Orton appears to be out of a job in Denver with the team's desire to continue with Tim Tebow, and Miami seemed like a likely landing spot for the five-year veteran.
Playing for the Carolina Panthers, Moore threw for 857 yards and five touchdowns in 2010. He also threw 10 picks, putting his passer rating at 55.6.
Henne threw for a career-high 3,301 yards to go with 15 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Orton, the oldest of the bunch, threw for 3,653 yards and 20 touchdowns while only tossing nine interceptions.
