Hoping to follow in the NFL's footsteps yet again, the NBA looks to resume talks Monday to try and figure out an end to the league's first lockout since 1998.
ESPN.com reports that one month after the lockout began, the owners and player's union will meet, with David Stern, Billy Hunter and each of their top colleagues, including deputy commissioner Adam Silver and players' association president Derek Fisher, expected to be there.
The players' last offer came on June 30 when they proposed a six-year agreement in which the players would cut their basketball-related income by about $100 million per year. The owners are working toward a 10-year agreement, which would include a hard salary cap and a much larger cut on player salaries.
The two sides return to the table much earlier than they did in 1998, when it took them seven weeks to negotiate after the lockout began.
