Providence Bruins Announce Opponents for 2011-12 Season

The Providence Bruins have announced who they will be playing in the upcoming American Hockey League season.

Entering its 20th AHL season, Providence announced their 2011-12 season opponents Thursday. The Bruins will play a total of 76 games against 12 opponents, with games against their rivals from the newly revamped Atlantic Division as highlights. Providence will play the Worcester Sharks 12 times, the Manchester Monarchs 10 times, the Portland Pirates 10 times, and St. John's four times.

They'll also play former Atlantic Division rivals the Springfield Falcons and Connecticut Whale a combined 18 times.

The Bruins, led by head coach Bruce Cassidy, will also play teams from the Northeast and East Divisions of the Eastern Conference during the season.
