San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith added his name to the rapidly growing list of players re-signing with their former teams. Sources told ESPN's John Clayton that Smith signed a one-year deal worth $5 million with the Niners.
The 49ers drafted Smith first overall in 2005. Over the course of five seasons with San Francisco, he's played in 54 games and has 9,399 passing yards, 51 touchdowns and 53 interceptions.
Last year, Smith appeared in 11 games and passed for 2,370 yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while the 49ers finished third in the NFC West with a 6-10 record.
