It seems like every day we hear of a new "favorite" team to acquire All-Star outfielder Carlos Beltran. That team now appears to be the San Francisco Giants.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports tweeted that the Giants are leading the way for Beltran, with the Texas Rangers also making a hard push.

Passan said he's heard Francisco Peguero, an outfielder for the Giants' Double- A squad, as a potential chip. Peguero ranked fourth in Baseball America's preseason evaluation of San Francisco's farm system.

There were rumors during the All-Star break that San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy inserted Beltran into the All-Star starting lineup as a way to woo the player. This was reportedly untrue.
