After failing to reach a deal that would have kept Alberto Aquilani with Juventus, Liverpool is now in talks that would send the 27-year-old midfielder to Sunderland, says liverpoolfc.tv.

According to the report, Sunderland is willing to pay up to £14 million in exchange for the Italian native's services. Aquilani made 33 appearances in 2010-11 for Juventus, which plays in Serie A, the highest professional league in Italy.

liverpoolfc.tv is also reporting that the club might loan 20-year-old forward Dani Pacheco to Blackpool for the upcoming season. The Seasiders will play in England's second-tier professional league for the first time during the 2011-12 season.
