Looking for someone to help them compete now while also grooming 2011 first-round pick Christian Ponder, the Minnesota Vikings have their eyes on another veteran quarterback to replace Brett Favre.

The Vikings and Redskins have the parameters of a deal for Donovan McNabb in place, but no deal can be made until the Vikings work out a restructured contract with the veteran quarterback, which, according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, could be tricky.

The Vikings are also in need of another QB after reports that Tavaris Jackson is leaving Minnesota to compete for Seattle's starting job, with Matt Hasselbeck poised to move on.
