Report: Red Sox, Royals Have Discussions About Jeff Francoeur, Talks in 'Exploratory' Stage Carlos Beltran has gotten a lot of trade buzz in Boston and around baseball, but the Red Sox may have their eyes on another outfielder.

According to FoxSports.com, the Sox have had discussions with the Kansas City Royals about outfielder Jeff Francoeur. However, the talks are said to be "exploratory" at this time.

Kansas City isn't exactly poised to move the right fielder, as the Royals have a mutual option for him for the 2012 season.

The 27-year old right fielder enters Friday hitting .264 with 13 home runs and 69 RBIs. He's also known as a strong outfielder with arguably the best arm in baseball.
