The San Francisco Giants have a young ace sporting a wild mane, a closer with a beard as thick and durable as the Great Wall of China and they're the focus of Showtime's debut season of The Franchise. It's fair to say the Giants are baseball's most "far-out" and "hip" team.

While you must excuse the old-school terminology, it is only fitting for a team that has a fan base notoriously living it up like it's the '60s — during last season's World Series, Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton said he distinctly smelled marijuana coming from the stands, not to mention the fact that certain fans reportedly tried to get tickets to the series in exchange for weed.

But now, according to a report by Larry Brown Sports, the connection between bud (no, not Bud Selig or Bud Light, but the other bud) and the Giants has reached an all-new level of intimacy.

In an issue of SF Weekly, a self-proclaimed "urban garden specialist" put in an advertisement for "unique houseplants." The colorful ad advertises "New Giant Savings," with the word "Giant" conveniently written in the same orange font the Giants use.

But the "urban garden specialist" does not stop there.

The bottom of the ad, which you can see by clicking here, reads "Keep It Local," with the San Francisco SF symbol lodged in the middle.
