The latest stop on the latest version of the Stanley Cup's world tour, brought hockey's most beloved prize to one of America's most beloved landmarks.
The Cup was in Fresno, Calif., over the weekend for a couple of showings. The connection, as Yahoo's Puck Daddy blog points out, comes from the Jacobs family, the owners of the Bruins.
In addition to owning the Stanley Cup champions, the Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs also owns Delaware North, the concessions company for Yosemite National Park.
Jacobs said that being able to share the Cup with his other employees — the ones who don't go to work dressed in Black and Gold — is something that he is very proud of.
"To be able to share the mystique of the Cup with our broader family and associates is one of the great joys we have," Jacobs told The Fresno Bee. "It's also a chance for them to take pride in what the company accomplished."
Jacobs brought the Cup to Delaware North for a private showing for the company, and the Cup was also on display for the public at one point over the weekend.
Those aren't the only stops the Cup made, however. In addition to being enjoyed by Delaware North and those in the Fresno area, the chalice got to take in the view at Glacier Point at Yosemite.
