Jon Lester makes his return Monday when the Red Sox face the Kansas City Royals.
Lester (10-4, 3.31 ERA) has been on the disabled list since July 8 with a strained left lat. He'll face right-hander Kyle Davies (1-9, 7.32), who has lost eight straight starts for the last-place Royals.
