Bruins Assistant General Manager Don Sweeney Spends Day With Stanley Cup in New Brunswick

While the 2011-12 NHL season — and the Stanley Cup defense that comes with it — is rapidly approaching, the Bruins are still enjoying their time with the Cup.

On Saturday, B's assistant general manager Don Sweeney brought Lord Stanley to his hometown of St. Stephen, New Brunswick.

Sweeney, of course, played 15 seasons with the Bruins from 1988-2003. Although he came close, the former defenseman never had an opportunity to hoist the Stanley Cup as a player, making it that much sweeter for him to be able to do it as a member of the organization's front office.

Check out the video above from NESN Daily for a glimpse at his day with the Cup.
