Editor's note: NESN is counting down the top 50 moments of the Bruins' 2011 Stanley Cup season. Every day from Aug. 17 to Oct. 5, a memorable moment from the 2011 season will air on NESN Daily and be posted on NESN.com.

Everyone knows the roll that Tim Thomas went on to end the season. The Bruins goalie was the playoff hero, standing on his head all spring, eventually winning the Conn Smythe as the B's won the Stanley Cup.

What may get lost in the championship haze, however, is the incredible start that Thomas got off to as well. In fact, Thomas won his first seven starts, and in the sixth start he picked up his third shutout of the season.

Thomas also became the first Bruins goalie since Tiny Thompson 73 years earlier to start a season 6-0.
