After losing assistant coaches Lawrence Frank and Darren Erman to the Pistons and Warriors, respectively, the Celtics will be filling at least one of those positions internally.

The team announced Wednesday that it has promoted Mike Longabardi to a bench assistant coach.

"I'm looking forward to adding Mike to our bench," head coach Doc Rivers said in a press release. "He has been in the fold the last four years and he's more than ready for the next step."

Longabardi has been with the Celtics since the 2007-08 championship season.
