Well, that was quick.
Just days after the Chicago Cubs fired GM Jim Hendry, his hometown of Park Ridge has wasted no time in attempting to take down honorary "Jim Hendry Way" street signs.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the signs were put up without city hall's permission by former governor Rob Blagojevich and the mayor of the town has been itching to take the signs down ever since.
"We never wanted them up in the first place," says mayor David Schmidt. "Now that Blagojevich is gone and so is Hendry — at least from the Cubs — it seems like this would be a good time to ask for [the signs] to be removed."
For the mayor's sake, we assume there isn't an open hearing to decide if the signs come down. If Hendry showed up, things might be a little awkward.
