Clippers Star Blake Griffin Doing Internship at Comedic Website ‘Funny Or Die’ (Video)

The NBA labor situation continues to show little, if any sign, of hope for the season starting on time. So, most players in the league are touring the country and playing in various pickup leagues or signing contracts to play overseas. Clippers forward Blake Griffin, however, is doing what many “kids” who are without work do — he’s getting an internship.

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that last season’s NBA Rookie of the Year is going to be doing an internship with the comedic website FunnyOrDie.com — a site that was created by funnyman actor Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.

According to the report, Griffin will “write, shoot, edit and act in several videos” for the website.

“Just to get an inside look at how things are run here is exciting to me,” Griffin told the AP on Tuesday. “I don’t know what interns at Funny Or Die are like, but I’m about to find out, I guess.”

Funny Or Die’s president, Mike Farah, said that Griffin will be treated just like the other interns at the company.

“We’re going to put him to work,” Farah said. “He’s shooting a series of videos, and he’s also coming to meetings. He’s basically doing everything that an intern does.”

Funny Or Die also “confirmed” the story on Twitter on Tuesday.

“NBA star Blake Griffin started his internship at Funny Or Die today!” the tweet read. “This is not a joke. He makes terrible coffee.”

Of course, it’s not necessarily Griffin’s foray into comedy. He and a couple of other pro athletes showed off their comedic chops in an ESPY skit this year. Griffin also made an appearance on Comedy Central’s Sports Show With Norm Macdonald. See one of those skits in the video below.
