Eastern Regional Little League Baseball Tournament Begins, Featuring Representatives From Each New England State

In what has become a summer tradition, the Eastern Regional Little League Baseball Tournament begins Friday and will last until the New Englnd Championship Game the following Friday. The winner of the tourament will advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Last year, Fairfield, Conn., defeated Cumberland, R.I., to advance to the LLWS. Fairfield is the only squad competiting this year that made it to the East Region Tournament last season.

The Championship Game is scheduled for Sunday, August 28.
