The reigning East Region champion Fairfield, Conn. squad will be looking to become just the third team in region history to make back-to-back appearances in the Little League World Series. Last year, Fairfield finished in third place in their pool, going 1-3.
The offense has showed the ability to explode at times, scoring 26 and 19 runs in separate tournament games, while also tallying 10 or more runs in 10 of their 17 district, section and state games. Throughout, the team averaged just under 11 runs per game.
Tall righty Edward Schwartz anchors the Fairfield pitching staff. He is an imposing player on the pitcher’s mound, and his size and strength has led to him dominating many opponents. Fairfield pitchers have allowed about four runs per game.
