Felix Hernandez Thinks Mariners’ Future Looks Bright, But Considers Red Sox and Yankees to Be AL’s Best Teams

Seattle pitcher Felix Hernandez arrived to the majors with sky-high expectations in 2005. Now, two All-Star selections and a Cy Young Award later, "King Felix" has proved that he is a bonafide ace.

However, his dominance hasn't translated into much success for the Mariners. And while Hernandez knows that the team still has a ways to go before it can be considered a contender in the American League, he does feel like the Mariners are making forward progress.

NESN's Heidi Watney caught up with Hernandez before his start against the Sox on Saturday to talk about a number of topics, including a commercial that he's featured in.

To hear what Hernandez had to say about the commercial, the season the Mariners have had thus far and how he thinks the American League's elite stack up, check out the video above.
